Year in Review for the Southern Nevada Golf Course Superintendent Association

During 2023 SNGCSA has continued to work with UC Riverside with Dr. Jim Baird taking the
lead on several turfgrass research projects at Anthem CC, Shadow Creek GC, and at Las Vegas
GC. Chapter members attended and contributed to several water summit meeting held around the
valley discussing the very pressing water issues. Five Education meeting were held offering a
total of 2.05 in Continuing Education Points for our members, and seven golf events.

2023 Annual Scholarship & Research raised $26,000 to help continue to conduct research
and provide scholarships to Turfgrass students and to the Legacy membership. In 2023 we gave out $18,000 in Scholarships, and $3500 in other donations around the valley.

2024 will be a unique year as Southern Nevada courses adapt to the water-use allotment of
4.0AF that went into effect on 1/1/24.  The SNGCSA will continue to work closely with its
members and the SNWA as golf properties navigate through these unprecedented times.
