A crowd of more than 130 golf industry executives, owners, professionals, allied association leadership and related business leaders gathered Jan. 6 at Southern Highlands Golf Club for the 2019 kickoff social for the Nevada Golf Alliance. While the evening was fun, it served a greater purpose as the calendar turned to 2019 and also an important fundraiser as more than $13,000 was raised.
“A social like this is critical for many reasons,” said Jason Cheney, Nevada Golf Alliance executive committee member and host for the evening. “Having an ‘industry social’ is important in bringing a collective group together in hopes of it being the foundation for building relationships. I think it was also a great forum for us to openly communicate the mission of the Alliance and to garner some initial support.
“To me the Nevada Golf Alliance mission is twofold,” “The first is to be the conduit for those that work within the industry, in developing strong relationships with their counterparts from across the valley, within the region or on a state and national level and to facilitate an open dialogue or become the resource amongst operators in defining best practice approach. The second is providing proactive leadership to the Nevada golf industry with effective communication that addresses the challenges that occur within our operations or legislatively on a local, state and national level.”
Additional Nevada Golf Alliance meetings and events will be held throughout 2019. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
